Home for the Elderly at Pashupatinath Kathmandu Nepal

Leon Trotsky said, ‘Old age is the most unexpected of all the things that happen to a man’.

Pashupatinath is the only elderly persons home operated in the Kingdom Nepal. It was established in 1882. Since 1977 it has been operated by the Social Welfare Elderly Home committee. It is home to 230 people who don’t have a home elsewhere.

Documented one countries way of  caring for the elderly, mentally challenged and infirmed. Caring for the age is not only a challenge for Nepal, but a universal challenge for  all countries.

Cooper’s reportage is at times, raw, emotionally charged and pervading but it is not without humanity. At all times it beckons the question, ‘What more can we do for these people and how can we help’? “Is there a better way’?
